Eating keto around Cleveland can mean a lettuce-bun burger in Ohio City, seafood downtown or an omelet in Lakewood. These 10 spots include nine restaurants and one meal-prep delivery option, with Cleveland Heights covered too.
The list was checked in October 2026. Menus change, so check before you go.
My default order: protein plus vegetables, with sauces on the side. Then check what else comes on the plate. The bread doesn’t have to come along for the ride.
Casual meals with keto menu labels
TownHall
TownHall in Ohio City, at 1909 W 25th St, has a menu with Keto Friendly labels. Start with the keto chicken wings and spicy garlic broccoli, or order the grass-fed cheeseburger with the menu’s lettuce bun option.
Read past the label, though. The keto baked buffalo tenders come with sweet potato fries, so ask to leave those off if you order them. Steak Bites by Stano lists honey, mirin glaze, pineapple and sushi rice despite its keto label; I’d choose the wings instead.
REBoL
REBoL at 101 W Superior Ave, by Public Square downtown, offers build-your-own bols. Choose grass-fed steak, pasture-raised chicken, wild shrimp or lamb/beef over organic field greens. Greek salad, grilled veg and citrus guacamole fill the three side slots without choosing rice.
The menu uses K for keto-friendly ingredients, but the signature Spicy Shrimp bol still lists rice and corn elotes. I’d build a bol from the individual components rather than assume that label covers every ingredient. Ask for your sauce on the side and leave off the optional naan.
Barbecue
Mabel’s BBQ (East 4th)
This is the East 4th Street location, at 2050 E 4th St downtown. Use its online ordering menu. Brisket, pulled pork or turkey breast with Hot Greens gives you a meat-and-vegetable order; the greens contain mustard greens, collards, kale and bacon.
The meats come with Mediterra rye bread, so ask to skip it. Pass on the pork belly’s maple mustard glaze and the Brussels sprouts’ spicy maple vinaigrette: both add sugar. Mabel’s doesn’t have a keto section, so keep the order specific.
Miega Korean BBQ
Miega is a Korean barbecue restaurant on the second floor at 3820 Superior Ave E in AsiaTown. On its menu, look for Sam Gyeop Sal, the sliced pork belly, and Gae Ran Jjim, steamed egg.
Ask for the pork belly unmarinated. It’s the safer starting point because Bul Go Gi and Gal Bi use sweet soy marinades. Grilled Mackerel is another option, but it comes with rice, so ask without it. Bul Go Gi also comes with rice; removing that doesn’t remove the sweet marinade.
Mediterranean grills and mezze
Zhug
Zhug serves Mediterranean mezze at 12413 Cedar Rd, in Cleveland Heights’ Cedar Fairmount neighborhood. Its menu has no keto labels. Beef kofte with smoked feta, fennel and radish, labneh with olive oil, and citrus cured olives are naturally low in carbs based on their listed ingredients; that isn’t a claim about measured carb counts.
Butter roasted shrimp is another possibility if you ask for it without the toast points. Skip the chickpea-based hummus plates for a low-carb order. Also watch the garlicky green beans: their menu description includes pomegranate molasses.
Taza, a Lebanese Grill (Downtown)
The downtown Taza is at 1400 W 6th St. Its Lebanese menu includes Shish Tawook, chicken brushed with lemon and garlic, plus Beef Kafta and Shish Kabob.
The Shish Grill entrees come with rice and bulgur or grilled vegetables. Ask for grilled vegetables instead of the rice and bulgur. Another route is the Shish Tawook Specialty Salad, which lists mixed greens, grape tomatoes, kalamata olives and feta. Request its dressing on the side.
Steaks and seafood
Oliva Steakhouse
Oliva is an Italian-style steakhouse at 408 W St Clair Ave, in the Warehouse District. The dinner menu lists ribeye and New York strip alongside vegetable sides such as Zucchine Marinate, baby zucchini with garlic, Aleppo pepper and olive oil.
Order the steak and vegetables separately; steaks are listed a la carte, with sauces also on the menu. Ask for sauce on the side. Skip Patate al Forno and Patate alla Pugliese, the potato sides.
Blue Point Grille
Blue Point Grille, at 700 W St Clair Ave in the Warehouse District, serves seafood and steaks. Its Simply Fresh Seafood menu includes Grilled Atlantic Salmon with sofrito fingerlings, french beans and lemon butter sauce.
Ask for extra french beans instead of the fingerling potatoes, with sauce on the side. If you add Local Greens, ask to leave off the maple roasted almonds and replace the honey lemon chardonnay dressing with a plain vinaigrette if available. The salad’s name doesn’t tell you the whole order.
Diner breakfast
Gray Dog Diner
Gray Dog Diner is at 13411 Detroit Ave in Lakewood. Its breakfast menu includes the Meat Lover’s Omelet, with bacon, ham, sausage and a choice of cheese, plus Greek and Three Cheese omelets.
Omelets come with home fries and toast, so ask to skip both. You can order bacon separately rather than count on a swap. Leave the Gray Dog Specials and Breakfast Bowl out of your keto order; those dishes bring pancakes, potatoes, breading or toast into the mix.
Meal prep for home
Zero Doubt Kitchen
Zero Doubt Kitchen is a meal-prep delivery business, based at 7501 Carnegie Ave and serving Cleveland and surrounding areas. Its featured meals labeled “Low-Carb” list about 20 to 33g total carbs each in the saved nutrition table. Call those low-carb, not keto.
For keto, I’d start with the plain protein options in its by-the-pound collection: Lemon-Garlic Grilled Chicken Breast, Lemon Garlic Shrimp or Seasoned Organic Grass-Fed Lean Ground Beef. Pair a protein with Garlic Roasted Broccoli by the pound, and check the current ingredients when ordering.
For chain options, use the keto fast food guide. For the hummus question that comes up with Mediterranean menus, read can you eat hummus on keto?.
